I have an existing prestashop store that I am using the same products/categories and images... I exported using emagicone and imported to the new database using emagicone and cannot get the images to appear. I already uploaded the img/p folder as it was on the original site... no success...!!

There is no need to transfer img/p directory from the existing store to a new one.
Simply export image URL's from your source store:

and then import them to your new store with the Store Manager in order to upload product images with the correct image ID's:
