Hi

Just starting to look at the point of Sale system and see if it will help us take telephone orders. Looks good, except I can't seem to add in a delivery system. It does not pick up our carriers.

Is that correct in that it is only for face to face so no shipping needed, or could it be an error?

Thank you for contacting us.

It looks like you have not set the price and weights ranges in for your carriers.

You can check it in the Administration tab > Carriers section, then select the carrier you need to check if it has all requires details: http://screencast.com/t/1B9WdaShmr

Thanks, I can now see the shiping options. Although our shipping is based on weight, I did need to set a figure for price also

However, now I have done that, and can now select different shipping carriers, the system does not calculate the shipping cost correctly. Again, it does in the n-line shop, and it does if I create an order in the prestashop back office, just not in Store Manager

For example in the UK, we have free Royal Mail delivery for all weights. using store Manager, if I add a small item to the cart, and choose royal mail delivery (and made sure I have a UK address) it shows a value of £1.20

And the other carriers are inconsistent also with the prices we charge based on weight

We have had a number of different carriers / charges over the last couple of years, and they have been deleted in the back office, however it is almost as though Store Manager is picking up the information from the old deleted carriers.

So the simple question is: Should Store Manager be able to calculate the cost of postage based on weight?

Thank you for your post.

Yes, the Store Manager allows to calculate the postage based in weight.
We have double checked that on our test servers, and it works correctly.

Please submit a ticket at: http://support.emagicone.com/submit_ticket so we could check the issue more deeply.

Thanks

The database keeps a record of all previous rates for each carrier in ps_delivery. They are marked as deleted, but they do stay there. It seems your algorithms are picking up the rates even though they have been marked as deleted.

I have tried deleting the entries in ps_delivery and I think that sorts it out - at least it did on our smallest store. As you know, manually editing the database is time consuming, but when I get a few minutes I will try it again as report back

Thank you for your repost.

Yes, the field "deleted" is contained in "ps_carrier" table and the Store Manager takes into a count its values.

What about "ps_delivery" table. As we know, it keeps the data referenced to the price and weight ranges, however in the default PrestaShop database there is no "deleted" field in "ps_delivery" table: http://screencast.com/t/GfmJJOEO

Probably you have installed additional module that customize "ps_delivery" table and add "deleted" field for the certain purposes.

Sorry, you are right there is no delete field, ps_delivery is standard layout. However I can confirm, that for whatever the reason, I have to delete the old data in this table.

I have done quite a few upgrades in the last few years, including re-installation and rebuilding tables so I guess this is more to do with my site than generally

Any way, I know how to fix this, so thanks for your help
