We have a database many different product combinations which need to be daily updated for new prices and remaining stock. Yesterday we sucessfully launched a test online shop, but today we have found a big problem after updating the database: combination images unexpectedly loose the link to the corresponding combination after the CSV import. The result is hundreds of combinations without images. The images are still in the server, but for some reason they are not assigned to any combination (??!). Product images seem not to be affected; only combination images.
Your software documentation says nothing about this kind of import limitations. I have invested MANY hours trying different import configurations, with no result. This includes separate imports for products with new images (that is, enabling image import) and products with already existing images (disabling image import). No results at all.
We are using Store Manager for Prestashop v2.11 (build 779), professional licence for 2 terminals. I have read in the support forum that newer versions of your software feature a new import option called “skip images if product already has image”. Would this be a complete solution for our problem, or can we solve it without spending money on an upgrade?
Thank you!

I have upgraded to latest version, imported with “skip images if product already has image” on, and the problem persists. I am opening a support ticket and sending all usual config files. Thanks.

Hello David,
Thank you for provided details.
We've checked your files and noticed that "Combinations Images" and "Product Images" columns are blank.
As we can see, the last column (54) contains product image records.
You should try to assign it to "Combinations Images" and "Product Images" and proceed with import once more.
Also please note, that image upload is a time consuming procedure and there is no need to import product images on a daily basis.
That's why "Skip images if product already has image" option has been added.

First of all, please ignore the columns in the CSV file that are not mapped in the import settings file. They are not important. For example, the last one is the result from a previous calculation in Excel. Please focus on the mapped columns.
Whatever combination with an assigned image that is present in the import file looses the link to that image after the import, no matter if the import settings include images, images with "skip images..." option, or NO IMAGES. In the latter case, it does not matter either if you map or don't map "product image" and/or "combination image" columns. I have already tried all possible combos. The setting file I sent is just one of them.
So I will give you now a more detailed explanation to reproduce the problem in one specific case, so we can solve this step by step:
1) Use the backup database (before importing) I sent, whose combination images are correctly assigned. I have just restored the same database in the public server. If you want you can just connect to it and see the results live at www.perfumeriaeuropa.com. It doesn't matter if you mess with the database. I can go back to the backup.
2) Now we are trying to update the prices and stocks of all products, WITHOUT ADDING OR UPDATING IMAGES. Please use the attached import file. It's identical to the one I sent first, but with NO IMAGE importing.
3) After importing, product images are ok. But please check combinations. All of them have lost the link to their images! Image files are still on the server, but they are not assigned to any combination.
Please focus on this, and once we solve this case, we'll move on to other problems with image import. Thanks.
As we can see, you assigned products images to empty column during import:
http://screencast.com/t/MLQd4z0yzZAf
since you checked to re-generate combinations, images were removed.
Please assign images correctly or un-assign it during import in order to avoid issues with missed images.
