Support for multiple Features (multiple values of a feature assigned to one product)

I'm currently testing your Prestashop store manager and will definitly buy it.
However, we have a module named "Multiple features" plus the approbriate "pm_advancedsearch4" in our shop.
We need this feature to assign multiple values of one feature to single products.
E.g a brake pad can be assigned to many motorcycles so the pad has a feature "Compatible Bikes" with multiple values like "yamaha500|honda350|aso..".

In the database this is done by multiple records in the "feature_product" table like
id_feature|id_product|id_feature_value
20|71|53
20|71|54
20|71|55
20|71|56

While this "multiple features" is essential for our site its impossible to bulk update this with any tool. This would be essential for >3000 Products + the ability to export/import per CSV.

So is there a chance that the Storemanger will support these "multiple features" ?

Best regards

I am currently using prestashop store manager with a prestashop store

What Christian is asking for is a much needed feature for our store, we currently have around 30,000 parts on or store and the time it takes to add and update every part with feature values one at a time is so time consuming that it is nearly impossible

Thanks

Multiple Features support is not so simple.
For example, if you need such functionality in the PrestaShop you need to buy additional module (like this http://addons.prestashop.com/en/bulk-update-prestashop-modules/6356-multiple-features-add-features-without-limits.html) in this case some changes in table structure will be changed by module. That's why it's hard to support unlimited number of additional modules with own logic.
When such functionality will be added to the PrestaShop - we will be able to maintain it at the level Store Manager for PrestaShop.

I am using the module that you are talking about. I also am using a custom built module for year make and model I can edit the values on this by using mass product changer or csv import. The only catch is that I can not use the value as it displays on the website but rather a corresponding number shows up. This takes a little working around on an Excel sheet with some formulas but I can update product rather quickly with this workaround. would it be possible to view and edit the values posted by this module in the same manner?

Thanks

Irvin , Store Manager does not support third-party modules
We provide PrestaShop native logic support by Store Manager.

Hi Sergiy

While the multiple_features module is 3rdParty, the Prestashop blocklayered module (search) is working with multiple features right out of the box (native logic!!).
So there is no problem with incompatibilitys with Prestashop itself.

in addition, there is _absolutely_ no change in table structure neccessary

The feature_product table stays untouched, there is no additional table neccessary (look at my first post)

However, if you _dont want_ to implement this function (it wont be that big affort) please say it clear.

We provide core support of PrestaShop at the first. This is highest priority subject for us.

3d components support is not high priority task for our future sprint.
BUT....
We can change our plans.
It depends on number of votes and comments for suggestion.

About the vote, eMagicOne seriously needs to promote the possibility to vote, I feel not many people use it. Maybe say something about it in a newsletter? As you see from the message previous to this one, even people on the forum are not aware of it! You would have a better idea of what people really wants...

Christian Kernbeis/Irvin Bowman: Have you tried the module with the SM?

If yes, what is happening when you modify an item which has multiple associated to it (thru the BO)?

Does the SM leaves the multiple features ( "yamaha500|honda350|aso..") there or do they get overwritten every time you save a change on the item ( "yamaha500")?

Thanks

I'm not sure about mentioned above situation.
Give us test access to store and this module and I'll let you know.
In regular SM does not leave multiple features for custom module.
But we need to test this variant.

N L wrote
I would but I haven't bought it yet as I'm not sure how SM will react to it :) I thought they might have tried it already...

I think it's probably gonna be overwritten too :/

I will let you know if I put my hand on it!

Ok, so I have put my hand on it and it does work good with Store Manager. Even when changing the other features, it doesn't overwrite the multi-feature one changed in the BO.

That said, I recently found that this had been discussed here: addons.prestashop.com/en/search-filters-prestashop-modules/6356-multiple-features-assign-your-features-as-you-want.html

And it shows again the problem with this forum, many suggestions comes and are duplicated because there is no easy way to see what have been suggested already (you know, people are lazy and won't search much). At least if the "recent/popular/new" would work, but they are not :( You need a better system to list the suggestions already made so people can vote for the one they really want or think could be good for them. Please have a look at this: http://feedback.ibearsoft.com/ A basic "category" sorting for suggestions is made and it's a bit easier to follow up. It could even be just a short list of the most popular ones for now, so at least we would have a basic choice :) *AND better explanation that VOTES does count above all and are important. Please, it's not clear to anyone! (you know it, you have to mention to everyone to vote their own suggestion!)* - I know I keep repeating this, but every time I come here I'm frustrated with it :/ I am happy to propose new ideas, and really want to help making this app even better, but you need to help us too :D

Thanks :)

From my side I'll try to open discussion with our development team about this feature - ""multiple Features (multiple values" BEFORE next Release.
I guess it'll be closer to August 25th-26th 2014.
Please touch me via ticket again and we'll update this status before next development plan generation.

I would _immensly_ appreciate the possibility to use Multiple Values for Features. If value Position could be controlled , similarly to Category Position, that would be AWESOME ! My main shop, www.winerepublic.ro has blended wines, and sometime Cabernet Sauvignon grape is the major part, other times Merlot is, [ while both are present in the blend ]. That would be relevant to consumers to know right order.

We are working on another special task.

By the way - we need to test online store with this module (Multiple Features Addon) .
The main problem for us - we can't organize 100% support of whole list of all modules with Mutliple Features.
It'll be good to organize small rating of modules by customers.
The main question - what's the most popular module for customers?
For example:
http://addons.prestashop.com/ru/search-filter/6356-multiple-features-assign-your-features-as-you-want.html
or
http://addons.prestashop.com/ru/front-office-features/8196-multiple-features-for-products.html

your variant ?

Hi Serg,

I will gladly give you access to my store. send me a message when you start needing it. As to the module, I think is not much of a module, because I use this free override from Presta Forum. It works well. I think Presta accepts natively multiple feature value, it is just the matter of making it checkbox not dropdown. But maybe I am wrong, because I am not programmer.

I have tried both and http://addons.prestashop.com/ru/search-filter/6356-multiple-features-assign-your-features-as-you-want.html is the best one and I am pretty sure saying its the most popular one

The other one has extra functions which are not well implanted yet and they have a terrible customer service.

Presta-Module is definitively a better choice :)

And as other said, I am not sure you need to manage any 3rd party module themself. Those module only add the different values in the database field as Christian Kernbeis wrote earlier:

id_feature|id_product|id_feature_value
20|71|53
20|71|54
20|71|55
20|71|56

You are right, NL.
We can't support all modules every time.
Store Manager for PrestaShop works with core logics of engine.
The implementation of such feature :
id_feature|id_product|id_feature_value
20|71|53
20|71|54
20|71|55
20|71|56

is more available :-)
