For export/auto-export: just save configuration, NOT product list

For export/auto-export: just save configuration, NOT product list

Hello,
1) first for Automated Export.
I provide a clear example:

a) you set an auto-import for adding new products only
b) ok... so, in your store you may have new products
c) after that you want to auto-export just the added products (so, all the products of the current day)

Here it seems that you can't do it....and why?
or how...?

how to select/auto export the added products of the current day?
I need to auto do it... not to manually select the products and then export...

I need to auto export every day the added products without manual intervention...

2) Then, for usual export:

a) you select a product list and right click to export
b) you save the configuration with your chosen ordered fields
c) instead of just saving the configuration (destination file, fields and so on...) it also saves that specific product list

so, if you open the saved .cfg content file, you can see on a line "ExportProdIDs=..."

and a list of product IDs... so it means that is saves that specific product list

BUT that's wrong (if not DELIBERATELY chosen by the user ON PURPOSE, by other options)...

I just need to repeat the actions with any product list I want...
selecting the products I need and apply the saved configuration (just a configuration, not even a previous product list)

hope that's clear, please try to fix by options

The missing option is like this:
"Also save this product list?"

If you select that option, it only saves that product list (always the same products)...
If not, you need to be able to use the saved configuration with the CURRENT product list, so any chosen product list...

Well, it's possible to implement a lot of export configurations. Right now we are working with selected product.
As a quick decision - how about this?
To create hidden folder where "today's" imported products will be stored.
You need to assign "today's" products to your categories and this hidden folder.
In this case you'll be able to run export configuration - select all products from hidden folder.
It should work in this case.

"Right now we are working with selected product. "

does it mean that maybe it will be available on the next version? I mean the issue number 2)
that's more important at the moment... even the 1st would be good to do... but the 2nd is really important (and above all would make the export process simpler and faster) ;-)

about the 1st for now I will try with your suggestion...but it's only a workaround...and then I also should delete that folder every day (otherwise it adds products from the previous days)

Hello Alessio,
I'm afraid right now we'll not be able to change current Development plan for this Release.
According to item#2 - in this case, we need to restructure our logics of Store Manager export.
From now we have 1 request for this feature.

Honestly, I can't understand your logic...this doesn't make sense

what's the purpose to force users to save a product list together with the configuration? That should be just an additional option (so, the opposite)... otherwise every time someone should change the order of the columns, the delimiters and so on... and so saving a "configuration" (which is not a real configuration) has no purpose...

I truly hope that this lacking approach will be fixed really soon.
Thanks

ok, Alessio, could you transfer your suggestion to Feature Request Section - https://support.emagicone.com/823795-PrestaShop-Manager-Feature-Request
Let's wait for customer reaction and comments.
From my side I'll try to speed up implementation according to votes.
