Bug in combinations import

Hello,
I import the product combinations from CSV files such as the one attached. I just found a bug when importing with the option "Modify only - do not add new products". Sometimes the CSV files have products that I do not want to add to the website, I just want to update the existing ones.

Well, so I choose the "Modify Only" and "import products with missing identifiers" option and it turns out that the combinations from products that do not exist are added to the last found product.

In my file, for example, I have these products:
195 - existing
195L - does not exist
195L-315 - does not exist
824 - existing

what happens currently is that all the combinations from the references 195L and 195L-315 are added to the product 195. This is wrong, it should not import these combinations.

Let me know if you have any issues trying to reproduce or I am doing something wrong in the procedure.

Hello,
I am sorry, but the issue is not fully fixed.
On the current latest release, if there is a product in the database that has no reference and you import product combinations (same file than on ticket and same import configuration), all the combinations from products that are not found in the database are added to the product with no reference. That is bad and it is a problem.
Please fix.

Let me know if you need any additional info.

========= here it is solution ========================

Could you use this option for export ?

it works fine when "Export Parent details" option is checked.

Quick decision:
What should you do with your file ?
please drag values like this fi you have old CSV files.

It is a "solution", although a junky one, since that means "Modify only" with a combinations file using "Reference" as product identifier, is not compatible with "Import products with missing identifiers".

Basically in this situation when a product in csv is not found in the database it should just skip all the following rows until the next identifier, and repeat the same process.

However, there are still more issues.
Now I added one column to my CSV, "Combination Is Default", and on the combination of each product that should be default I put a 1. The file is attached.

Now import the file with the same combinations as in the first post of this ticket in a multishop. In the last screen, select only some shops, not all, and click Finish. What happens? All combinations are imported except for the default one. I can reproduce it over an over, that is a bug too.

Hello, Yoush!
Well, according to your situation:
In your case you have all the same references for combinations - see screenshot - Similar-refs.png

It's better to change it to unique codes - like this - picture - Similar-refs-2.png

In this case, you'll be able to import combination by Ref. update.

Another variant - to import combination by Combination id - pic - combination-id.png
But, in this case, it's reasonable to operate with this file if you can export -import it by Store Manager only.

When CSV file be arrived from another supplier - this is not a good idea for you.

Finally, I'm going to discuss your suggestion on our development meeting.
Let's return to this question tomorrow.

Hello,

Same combination references shouldn't be relevant to the bugs exposed here (missing products being added to product with no reference and default combinations not importing when not selecting all shops) - this is what the default BO combinations generator assigns, anyway.

I regenerate the combinations each time I import because they can change a lot (in number with new combinations or removed combinations and in attribute groups used).
By combination ID is not not an option.

Let me know what you discuss. Have you been able to reproduce the issue with the default combination not being imported?
