I have 100s of products that have photos I need to delete but in store manager I can only see an option to go into each product individually and delete the images i need to delete. is this the only way?

You can select the products you need using (Ctrl button) or select all products from the certain category (Ctrl+A), click at them with right mouse button, select "Clear Product Data" and select the data you would like to delete: http://screencast.com/t/ZFMdMuJxn

I see but what Im actually trying to do is delete just the first image in multiple products. what has happened is for some reason the 1st image is populating but the rest are. Is there anyway to do this?

Unfortunately there is no way to delete the certain product image in bulk from from multiple products.

I found a way to fix it. I just reuploaded the csv file and ignored the image link that was giving me problems and it didnt import but the only two did and it worked great.
