The approximate release date has no meaning.
Every week, the release date just get pushed to a further date and the last updated date being updated to a more recently date
What's the meaning of a release date published to us and being pushed to later date many times.
Why don't you have a fix date and publish?

Actually, estimated release date is set basing on tasks that are added to the upcoming release, but can be changed during the testing process. In the latest release was planned the implementation of Magento 2.1.2 support, but during development process, there emerged the need to add support for 2.1.3 version as well. That was the reason why the release date was postponed a few times
We released Beta version from our side, so customers could test it before Stable version is released.
