Hello!
There is a quick decision.
It's possible to hide preview column. In this case, you don't need to wait preview downloading.
Ho to do it?
1) Click on "=" column settings label - pic remove-grid.png
2) Tick on Preview title. This command will remove this column from the Product grid.
3) As a result - you'll get images free Product Grid - pic - remove-grid-done.png
