Please look at core logic of Store Manager for OpenCart. - select any action by click on (products, categories etc....)
if you have
Root
-- cat 1
-- cat 2
Select all folders and....
Program shows you selected categories when you choose 3 categories (Root, cat1, cat2) - watch video example http://screencast.com/t/rFRNNz8bm
Please use Ctrl + mouse and select necessary folder to show -

Ok but doesn't show if you have sub sub categories. Having the dropdown makes it faster without having to select each folder, like in Magento manager.
