public_html/catalog is not the root folder of your store.

I am attempting to synch up with my oscommerce website and want to transition it over to virtue mart. I have the templates, virtuemart etc underway for the new site. I hope your software works out like I think it will:)

Thanks,
Jim

Thank you for contacting us!

Store root directory is the folder that contains the files of your store (shopping cart) that you can find/see via FTP. In most cases it is public_html or httpdocs or www. To make sure that you have selected the correct folder, check if there are admin and images folders as well as all other files and folders of your shopping cart inside.
Please, let us know how it goes.

I tried this again tonight for quite awhile. It connects to my FTP site, but doesn't do anything, as it says "public_html" is not root to the store. It looks like I am completely stuck.

I am connecting to my oscommerce site (older version) and want to pull the database into your storemanager and push it to my virtue mart. Maybe this isn't possible? I downloaded virtuemart 2.014.

One idea I was thinking about...I could download my database, which I have already....and import it into the storemanager? Would this work?

BTW- thanks for helping me...I am hoping your software works well, as it could save me a ton of time!

Thank you for reply.

The only way to transfer your data from osCommerce to VirtueMart Store Manager is to use import/export tool. You need to export all your data from osCommerce to .csv file and then import this file into Store Manager for VirtueMart. Not all fields may be transferred due to differences in database fields of these shopping carts. You are welcome to check this documentation to see how import process goes like: http://store-manager-for-virtuemart-documentation.emagicone.com/products-management/import-products
Please, let me know if any additional questions occur!

Wish you luck ;) In case, you have faced with some issues while import, please, send us your .csv file and import configuration file ( which you can save on the last step of import) and we will check import settings from our side.Have a great day!
